Frozen Toes

I like that I'm typing this post as my only reader stands right next to me folding socks. Awesome!

(Without ME, it would just be aweso...)

So I'm home I guess.

Last night, I went to my professor's house for the final meeting of our ghost class.  Good times!  When we all got there (my ride missed the turn to her house), we left again to walk to the cemetary about a quarter of a mile away from her house.  It was SO COLD! At least I had my boots so my feet stayed dry.  Jake had to wear his cloth slip-ons.  And no gloves, so he stuck his hand in mine.  Innywho....

We checked out the gravestone of the woman who haunts Prof's house, a young mother named Annie.  She died of dyptheria shortly after giving birth to her fourth child.  Then we walked back for cider and snacks and a tour of her beautiful old home and a ghost story.  Woo!

On the tour, we saw the parlor of the house where Jake played creepy music on the antique piano (which freaked out the biggest skeptic in our class... he turned out to be the biggest scaredy cat too) and Prof turned the handle on her creepy victrola machine.  Cool stuff man!  Then we saw the library (SO MANY BOOKS... and an organ. cue more creepy music curtesy of Jake) and went up the REALLY STEEP staircase to the upstairs.  It was a beautiful home that the family had remodeled from the ground up.  I would totally live there.

So by the time all the tours were done, it was about 10:00 pm.  Everyone was tired!  But we sat and listened to her tell about how she had felt a presence behind her several times to find no one there, had doors mysteriously lock for no reason, and a candle pop out of the candleabra.  She passed around an old Polaroid of the house where a face can clearly be seen in the window when no one was in the house at the time.  Then no photos could ever be taken in the house for many years after that, regardless of the camera used.  Pretty intense.  Nothing happened that night, but it was still fun.  Jake fell asleep on the couch but I nudged him awake.  We finally got back to Doane at like 11:45, and I totally crashed.

Good interterm.  Bring it on, Spring semester!

Oh: The cats.  Haha, they had two white cats, who were so cute.  My nose didn't like them but I petted them anyway.  At the end of the night, one of the cats was totally sprawled out next to Jake on the arm of the couch and the other was licking the bowl of peanuts.  Quite good entertainment for the evening.

Movies I watched this month:

In no particular order and probably missing some:

The Brothers Bloom
Taken
Gulliver's Travels
You, Me, and Everyone We Know
Part of Wristcutters: A Love Story
Spirited Away
The Mystery Team
Evil Dead
The Orphanage (awesome!)
The Grudge
All four Resident Evil movies
Shaun of the Dead
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Cannibal! The Musical
Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog
All four seasons of The Guild

Um... I think that's it? I feel like there are more.

Interterm

Sooooo for the last few weeks, I've been in Interterm for school.  Basically that means I just have the same class every day for three hours a day.  My class was called Ghosts in Fact and Fiction.  Pretty interesting!  We had to go on a ghost hunt which was pretty uneventful.  Got one interesting picture from when Britni thought something touched her hair; an orb showed up in that exact spot.  That's about all that happened really.  Jacob's group got a cool picture of an unexplainably glowing headstone at Gilbert's Graveyard near Dorchester.  Weird stuff!

So here's the breakdown of what I've been doing every day:

Wake up at 7:30
Get ready
Go to Common Grounds with Jacob
Get tea and scone
Walk to class
Watch a movie in class or listen to a short lecture or listen to a group talk about their ghost hunt
(AKA try to stay awake)
Leave class at 11-11:30
Get lunch
Walk back to Hansen
Watch a movie(s) / take a nap / watch Jacob play guitar/video games / etc.
Go to dinner
Watching more movies/whatever
Go to sleep
Repeat

Woo!

I suppose I did some interesting things:

Last Wednesday I went to Lincoln with Jake to see his cousin's band play a gig at the Bourbon.  They were really good.  The bands we saw were:
The Silver Rabbit (bizarre)
I Am The Navigator (cousin, very good!)
Once a Pawn (also very good)

Then Saturday I went into Lincoln for a girl's day with Megan and Crysta. Fun stuff.

That's about it.  I should make a list of all the movies we watched haha.
